VOLUNTEERING
My Mom and Dad were volunteers for many organizations over the years. My Dad always told me that it was important to give back. Never worry about fanfare; keep donations and assistance private and discrete. I cannot remember a time when I was not volunteering. Whether is was fixing things at the Cape Cod Synagogue as house chair, or teaching the Apollo program to classes in my kid's schools. My focus is truly to 'live simply and help others.'
KIWANIS
I have been a member of Kiwanis International since 2002. Kiwanis is a community service organization that serves the children of the world. Helping kids is truly an honorable pursuit and in my mind crucial in today's difficult times. I am a member of the
Kiwanis Club of Hyannis. Our Club is very busy in the mid-cape community. We raise money for scholarships, the construction or refurbishment of local playgrounds, and help children and families in need, as well as supporting the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute in Boston.
KEY CLUB
I have been very involved as an advisor to High School Key Clubs.
Key Club is the high school level community service branch of the Kiwanis family. Key Club is set apart from all other schools clubs in that the clubs themselves are student led and managed. The Kiwanis Club of Hyannis sponsors three Key Clubs; Barnstable High School, Sturgis Charter High School and Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School. I am gratified to work with such amazingly gifted kids. As advisors, we facilitate the needs of the student staff. I have been involved in a divisional capacity as an Cape Cod Division Area Advisor for the last two years, assisting all of the Key Clubs and their school and Kiwanis advisors with training, management coaching and leadership.
FUNDRAISING
I share these numbers out of respect and hard work that the volunteers on each committee did to make these events so successful. I am so proud to work with so many good and gracious people on a daily basis, who are selfless and give of themselves without any applause just to help those who are unfortunate. Bless you all and thank you.

2010 1st Annual "Hyannis Main Street Sprint" Road Race Fundraiser (Chair) - Raised $2,000.00
One more thing- A plug for our Hyannis Club. We are always looking for new members to help us out. With more we can do more. Our club is on the verge of becoming a non-profit corporation. We would love to have you join us for a meeting. I am sure you possess some skill that would help us out. It's fun. We help kids. We help our community. Men, women, retirees- anyone can help us.
U.S. COAST GUARD AUXILIARY
I am a proud member of Flotilla 11-8 based in Sandwich, Massachusetts. The AUX is in incredible organization made up of volunteers who, under the auspices of the U.S. Coast Guard assist with boating safety and security. The AUX also has an AUX AIR program that I hope to become involved in. As my term as president in Kiwanis winds down I will become more active in the AUX.
